EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (ECD)

Early Childhood Development (ECD) is the foundation of a child’s lifelong learning, well-being, and success. The period from birth to age five is a critical window for cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. During this time, children’s brains develop rapidly, forming the neural connections that shape their ability to think, communicate, and interact with the world. High-quality early learning experiences, especially those that involve play-based education, provide children with essential skills that influence their academic achievement, emotional intelligence, and future career opportunities.
Our curriculum-aligned and approved ECD Resource Kit is a practical starter pack designed for under-resourced Early Childhood Development centres in South Africa.
It provides educators with essential teaching and learning materials that support daily classroom activities and help children develop the foundational skills needed for school readiness. The kit also includes a detailed Practitioner’s Guide with clear, step-by-step guidance on how to use and facilitate the resources effectively in the classroom.
