Oscar, the lion cub, lived with his family in the veld. He had two brothers, and they loved playing with each other. Oscar’s father decided to teach his sons how to behave like kings of the veld. The first lesson was how to roar loud and with pride. Unlike his brothers, Oscar could not get it right – he just meowed like a cat. Oscar then practised hard on his roaring, and one day, when his brothers were under threat, he loudly let out his first real roar to save their lives. They were very proud of Oscar, who showed them all the value of persistence. Practice makes perfect!
